Geeking Out in Taipei, Taiwan
Aside from my hobbies related posts, this blog is also going to include some / all of my upcoming travels. First destination: Taipei, Taiwan!
Gonna be leaving for Taipei in a couple of days to watch a j-artist concert. Gonna be watching LiSA's concert LiVE is Smile Always ~ASiA TOUR 2018~[eN] Taipei. This is also going to be my first out of the country solo trip. A bit excited and nervous at the same time. Hoping for the best!
Gonna be making several posts after this one as day goes by.

Here is YANOMAN Card Protector Over Guard Z side by side with KMC CSG Mat & Clear and a double sleeved deck.
YANOMAN Card Protector Over Guard Z is bigger than most outersleeves available in the market. Its very sturdy and is very durable. It fits mosts of the standard sleeves and is very good in protecting those sleeves with anime/art designs on them.
I have also tested the YANOMAN Card Protector Over Guard Z with the following sleeve brand. (photos below)
- Dragonshields Matte Sleeves
- Hareruya Sleeves
- Legion Supplies Sleeves
- Bushiroad Anime Sleeves
- Ultrapro Matte Sleeves
Last comparison.
75 card deck using YANOMAN Card Protector Over Guard Z compared to a 100 card EDH deck using KMC CSG Mat & Clear
Do I recommend this product? If you are using foil cards or if you are very protective of your deck, this is your go-to outersleeves. But, I probably wont recommend this to people with small hands since it will be very hard to shuffle.
Some disclosure:
- Unless specified, Trading Cards used in the photos are Magic the Gathering cards. Each pile consists of 75 cards, which is a default count of a Magic the Gathering deck.

KMC CSG Mat & Clear side by side with double sleeved decks
KMC CSG Mat & Clear side by side with YANOMAN Z Over Guard Outersleeves
The KMC CSG Mat & Clear has a very good shuffle feel. Very similar to KMC hypermats (if you have tried those sleeves before). It fits mosts of the standard sleeves and is very good in protecting those sleeves with anime/art designs on them.
I have also tested the KMC CSG Mat & Clear with the following sleeve brand. (photos below)

100 card EDH deck using KMC CSG Mat & Clear compared to a 75 card deck using YANOMAN Z Over Guard
Do I recommend this product? Yes. Since I'm using anime sleeves, I'm always using this sleeves in all of my decks. I really like the shuffle feel and it doesn't get dirty easily. (though I always use a playmat).

KMC Perfect Hard

SPECIFICS:
Brand: KMC
Quantity: 50pcs per pack
Dimension: 64x89mm (T0.1mm)
Using only perfect fits (or in this case, perfect hard) , here's a side-by-side comparison of its thickness
Side by Side Comparison with KMC Side-In Perfect and KMC Perfect Hard
After putting it in a standard card sleeve, here's the side-by-side comparison of its thickness.
The Perfect Hards are thicker than your normal perfect fits. As seen in the picture, they really make your deck stack taller. But because of this thickness, your foil cards are always straight and gives you that extra protection specially if your using/playing with expensive cards.
I have also tested the KMC Perfect Hards with the following sleeve brand. (photos below)
- Dragonshields Matte Sleeves
- Hareruya Sleeves
- Legion Supplies Sleeves
- Bushiroad Anime Sleeves
- Ultrapro Matte Sleeves
Do I recommend this product? Yes. I'm using this for my all-foil deck. If you are using an all-foil deck, or if you just want that extra protection, i'd recommend this one. Otherwise, they other perfect fits are okay since Perfect Hards are more expensive. (you need to buy 2 packs instead of just 1).

- Trading Cards used in the photos are Magic the Gathering cards. Each pile consists of 75 cards, which is a default count of a Magic the Gathering deck.

SPECIFICS
Brand: KMC
Quantity: 100pcs per pack
Dimension: 64x89mm
Using only perfect fits, here's a side-by-side comparison of its thickness
Side by Side Comparison with KMC Side-In Perfect and KMC Perfect Hard
After putting it in a standard card sleeve, here's the side-by-side comparison of its thickness.
The Perfect Fits looks thinner than the Side-In Perfects but they are actually the same in thickness. there's just more air inside the Side-In Perfects since they have wider opening vs the Perfect Fits.
when you look at the side-by-side after putting them in a standard sleeves, you'll see that they are very similar in thickness.
I have also tested the KMC Side-in Perfects with the following sleeve brand. (photos below)
- Dragonshields Matte Sleeves
- Hareruya Sleeves
- Legion Supplies Sleeves
- Bushiroad Anime Sleeves
- Ultrapro Matte Sleeves
Do I recommend this product? Yes. Nothing really to elaborate on this one. Its a basic perfect fit sleeves. It should work well in your standard sized trading cards with no problem. KMC is a great brand as well so you shouldn't have any problems with it.
